Frito Pies

This dish brings me right back to my middle school cafeteria in Texas. Of course, the cafeteria version has less toppings, but still delicious nonetheless. I make mine dairy free by leaving off some of my missed toppings like cheese, but to get the full experience load up the Fritos. This is like a taco salad or nachos, but you get to use the amazing saltiness of Fritos and it makes a difference. I’ve seen people used the bag and mix everything in it, but nothing beats it being in a big ol’ bowl.

Ingredients:

  • Fritos
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 packet of Taco seasoning or homemade taco seasoning
  • diced tomatoes
  • shredded lettuce
  • salsa
  • shredded cheese
  • sour cream
  • corn

Directions:

Brown the ground beef and season with the taco seasoning. Pour Fritos into a bowl and load it up with the rest of the toppings and ground beef. Stir it up and enjoy. So easy, wasn’t it?
